BIOGRAPHY OF SENATOR (DR.) JOSEPH IGIAGBE IKPEA
Senator (Dr.) Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea is an accomplished administrator, seasoned statesman, and passionate advocate for grassroots development. Born in Ewatto Kingdom, within the Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State, his life journey reflects a deep-seated commitment to hard work, community advancement, and public service.
Dr. Ikpea built a robust academic foundation, earning advanced degrees that culminated in a doctorate, preparing him for high-impact administrative governance. He entered public leadership with a singular focus: transforming rural infrastructure and enhancing human capacity. His leadership track record includes serving as the Executive Chairman of Esan South-East LGA, where he pioneered local socio-economic reforms. Recognizing his expertise in resource management, he was appointed as the Edo State Commissioner for Minerals, Oil, and Gas, where he successfully managed key state portfolios.
In recognition of his consistent grassroots impact and legislative vision, he was elected to the National Assembly as the Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District. Throughout his legislative and political career, Senator Ikpea has used his platform to draft policies aimed at youth inclusion, rural electrification, and regional economic empowerment.
